In light of the Mediterranean day, this is an invitation for the \u201cInterArts\u201d performance; Reclaiming our Mediterranean through arts for dialogue.<\/p>\n
What to expect?
\n\u2022 Community performance that combines visual arts and performing arts.
\n\u2022 Live debate with the artists.
\n\u2022 Networking that consists of food and beverage coming from various backgrounds and stories from the Mediterranean region
\n\u2022 The performance will be streamed online via the Anna Lindh Foundation and Povod’s Facebook Pages in Slovenia.<\/p>\n
What do we mean by reclaiming our Mediterranean?
\n\u2022 Reflecting on our Mediterranean identities within its global scope
\n\u2022 Reclaiming the narratives of the past present and future. Challenging binarism and profiling. Combating all forms of discrimination and mainly discrimination based on ethnicity and gender. This is through the various forms of resilience toward inclusive and just cities across our Mediterranean region.
\n\u2022 Tackling our common visions and challenges through arts for dialogue on environment, climate justice, social justice, and global justice.<\/p>\n
Meet the team of the \u201cInterArts\u201d group:<\/p>\n
\u201cInterArts\u201d is an informal group of artists coming from Syria, Algeria, Jordan, Slovenia, and Bosnia, and Herzegovina and living in Ljubljana. On the 29th of November 2021, they will perform a collective artwork that reflects on the concepts of the Mediterranean identities: the common challenges and future visions.<\/p>\n
The performance artists are:<\/p>\n
Aber al Gundi, a poet from Syria who moved to Ljubljana around three years ago.<\/p>\n
Amelisa Emini\u0107 is a filmmaker and cultural planner in Slovenia\/Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n
Noudjoud Derbal, a handcrafter from Algeria who is a resident of Ljubljana.<\/p>\n
Safa Hasan, a painter, an Iraqi citizen who lived in Syria for 10 years and moved to Slovenia in 2013.<\/p>\n
The performance is directed by Samar Zughool, art director and performing artist, born in Amman, Jordan, and resident of Slovenia.<\/p>\n

\nThis event is organized by the Povod institute for the culture and development of international relations in culture in cooperation with the Organisation for intergenerational collaboration and Reka si. A consortium of NGOs based in Slovenia and working on intercultural and intergenerational dialogues for sustainable development.<\/p>\n
\nWe will start with the performance, then a debate, and conclude with a networking reception with food and beverage from various backgrounds in the Mediterranean region.<\/p>\n
