MedaWeek Barcelona 2021

Start date: 11/17/2021
End date: 11/17/2021

The Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders is an iconic economic conference dedicated to promoting the Mediterranean region worldwide. This event endorses the key economic sectors and the cultural values of this region through a wide variety of forums.

MedaWeek Barcelona serves as the main meeting point for voicing the interests of the private sector in the socio-economic development of the Mediterranean countries. This year, its 15th edition will take place from the 17th to 19th November in a hybrid format.

Since its debut in 2006, MedaWeek Barcelona has been jointly organised by the Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation, with the collaboration of prominent Euro-Mediterranean organisations.

In line with this year’s claim “A future in common”, MedaWeek Barcelona 2021 will host numerous key thematic and sectorial fora. This edition will start with the 9th Mediterranean Green & Renewable Energy Summit, highlighting the importance of driving Mediterranean economies towards a more sustainable future. MedaWeek will address regional priorities such as the importance of Africa for the Mediterranean development. It will also cover key points for the Mediterranean region, such as Agriculture and Food, Social Economy, Women Entrepreneurship, Healthcare or Islamic Finance. Discussions about the most deeply affected industries after coronavirus, like the Hotel & Hospitality and the Cruise sectors, will also be held.

Moreover, in this difficult economic context, there are some sectors that are becoming more relevant for the recovery of regional economy, such as Sport or Audiovisual and Creative industries, which will be as well addressed in MedaWeek 21.
