Conference: Future-Ready Accountants: Innovation, Sustainability, and Regional Impact

The Federation of Mediterranean Certified Accountants (FCM), together with the Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (OCC), will host the regional conference “Future-Ready Accountants: Innovation, Sustainability, and Regional Impact” on 24 November 2025 in Lisbon, as part of the official celebrations of the Day of the Mediterranean.

Bringing together leaders from professional accountancy bodies, EU institutions, IFAC, ACCA, AFAA, and representatives from Mediterranean countries, the conference will address key challenges and opportunities for the region’s economic and sustainable development.
The programme explores:
• ESG, sustainability and public value
• Management transformation in the Mediterranean
• Capacity building, digitalisation and regional cooperation
• The EU Pact for the Mediterranean and Mediterranean-wide policy priorities

With high-level speakers—including IFAC representatives, EU officials, presidents and CEOs of Mediterranean institutes—this event reinforces the Mediterranean identity of the profession and highlights the role of accountants as drivers of innovation, transparency and sustainable development.
Simultaneous interpretation in English and Portuguese will be provided.

This conference forms part of FCM’s 25th anniversary programme and contributes directly to the objectives of the Day of the Mediterranean: strengthening cooperation, dialogue and shared regional identity.
