The Mediterranean basin, with its 500 million inhabitants, is an area that has been strongly impacted by climate change, as outlined in the recent report by the MedECC (Mediterranean Experts on Climate and Environmental Change). The towns and regions of the Mediterranean basin have made use of their strengths to boost the resilience of their social, economic and environmental systems, helping them to absorb the impact of extreme weather and climatic events today and tomorrow.
The competition rewards local players for exemplary and replicable practices to adapt to climate change. This 3rd Trophies ceremony is a chance to recall the urgency of taking action and the importance of sharing experience.

The aim? To inspire, innovate and mobilise all the players involved in adapting to climate change from coastal, urban and rural populations around the Mediterranean Sea. Come and meet the Trophies 2021 prize-winners and discuss the obstacles to overcome and the conditions for the success and deployment of these solutions on a wider scale.
