As the global population continues to increase, fisheries and aquaculture have a vital role to play in securing a sustainable future for our region.

Join us for the launch of the 2025 edition of The State of Mediterranean and Black Sea Fisheries (SoMFi) on 28 November at 10.00 (CET).

The State of Mediterranean and Black Sea Fisheries provides the most comprehensive and up-to-date report on fisheries and aquaculture status and trends in the region. As the authoritative reference, this GFCM flagship publication supports evidence-based decision-making and monitors progress towards sustainability goals.

The State of Mediterranean and Black Sea Fisheries 2025 is the most ambitious edition to date — the result of an unprecedented collaborative effort across the region, compiling the work of over 700 experts, with all participating countries contributing data and expertise.

It will confirm the positive trends that have been observed by fisheries and aquaculture experts throughout the year.

  • The logo can be used by groups and organizations who like to align themselves with the International Mediterranean Day. It is to be used at events that in no way bring disrepute to the Mediterranean Day promoted values. It is also used for demonstrating support and involvement through non-saleable, non-commercial products and resources that promote or support Mediterranean Day aims and objectives.
  • The logo must not be used for any form of merchandising to generate commercial gain or sale of products. It must also not be used in association with any form of harmful, violent or illegal activity. To report breaches, please email communication@ufmsecretariat.org
