8th edition Olhares do Mediterrâneo – Women’s Film Festival
Nov 10 – 14 | Cinema Sõ Jorge Lisbon | Portugal

The Olhares do Mediterrâneo – Women’s Film Festival had its 1st Edition in 2014 and it is the first International Film Festival in Portugal dedicated to give visibility to the presence of women in the international cinematographic arena. Olhares do Mediterrâneo – Women’s Film Festival promotes films made by Mediterranean women, or women working in the Mediterranean countries. The Festival aims to give visibility to the role of women in filmmaking, promoting their work and encouraging creative exchange
with the film industry professionals in Portugal. At Olhares do Mediterrâneo – Women’s Film Festival, we look at the world from the Mediterranean shores, through the creative lenses of women. Through cinema, women directors from the Mediterranean countries express their views on the different ways of living in this unequal world. It is this diverse way to look at the world that we want to share with the audience in Portugal.

The Olhares do Mediterrâneo – Women’s Film Festival is a project of the Group Olhares do Mediterrâneo and Centre for Research in Anthropology (CRIA)
