Start date: 07/12/2023
End date: 07/12/2023

Our trip to the Mediterraneo stops in France with the presentation of a documentary screening (The Mysteries of Cosquer Cave), organised by the Embassy of France in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Ireland, and the support of the Instituto Cervantes Dublin.

Synopsis: In the south of France, 37 metres below sea level, lies the world’s largest painted cave: the Grotte Cosquer. However, its 30,000-year-old paintings are under threat from rising sea levels. A life-size replica is currently under construction and is due for completion in June 2022. The film follows this ambitious artistic and scientific project as it traces the incredible history of the first human settlements in Provence. 2022 opening of the replica in Marseille.
