CELEBRATING THE MEDITERRANEAN
Der Tag des Mittelmeerraums bietet jedes Jahr die Gelegenheit, den interkulturellen Austausch zu fördern, die Zusammenarbeit zu feiern, die Vielfalt zu begrüßen und die Beziehungen zwischen unseren beiden Küsten zu stärken. Wir feiern unsere gemeinsame Identität, unser gemeinsames Erbe und unsere Liebe zum Mittelmeer.
Es ist eine Erinnerung daran, dass unsere Gemeinsamkeiten unsere Unterschiede weitgehend überwiegen und dass wir alle eine mediterrane Identität teilen.
Der Tag des Mittelmeerraums 2024 – Die nächste Welle: der Aufbau eines gemeinsamen morgen
2024 ist ein Jahr wie kein anderes. Da die Fristen der Agenda 2030 der Vereinten Nationen für nachhaltige Entwicklung schnell näher rücken und sich die verschiedenen Krisen auf der Welt vervielfachen, liegt es an uns, den Mittelmeerraum so zu gestalten, wie wir ihn sehen, auf der Grundlage von Widerstandsfähigkeit, Zusammenarbeit und einer besseren Zukunft für alle.
So wie unser Mittelmeer über ein beispielloses Kulturerbe von Weltrang und eine Fülle an Traditionen verfügt, ist es auch ein Hotspot der Biodiversität und Geodiversität und Heimat einer Vielzahl einzigartiger Lebensräume und Arten.
Das Mittelmeer zu feiern bedeutet, das Leben in vollem Ausmaß und seiner ganzen Fülle zu feiern. Dieses uralte Meer, um das wir leben, hat der Welt ihre größten Zivilisationen, ihre frühesten Akademien und Universitäten, ihre ersten Dramatiker und Philosophen und ihre berühmtesten Handelszentren beschert.
Der Tag des Mittelmeerraums zielt darauf ab, jedes Jahr einen einzigartigen Impuls zu schaffen, um die positiven Kooperationen in der Region sichtbar zu machen. Er erinnert ebenfalls daran, dass wir alle eine mediterrane Identität teilen, wobei die kulturelle Dimension ein wichtiger Bestandteil dessen ist, wer wir sind und woher wir kommen.
Er bietet die Möglichkeit, Projekte und Initiativen zu starten sowie Veranstaltungen, Rundtischgespräche, Ausstellungen und Festivals in der gesamten Region abzuhalten, um die Beziehungen zwischen unseren Küsten zu stärken, den interkulturellen Austausch zu fördern und Vielfalt zu fördern.
Was kann ich dazu beitragen?
Jeder spielt eine Rolle. Egal, ob Sie eine im Bereich der Zusammenarbeit tätige Organisation, eine öffentliche Verwaltung, eine private Einrichtung oder ein Bürger sind, der das Mittelmeer liebt, Sie können Teil der Bewegung sein!

Today we have started a 2-day International Symposium on New Models of Agri-Food Development Cooperation🌍
CIHEAM Zaragoza becomes the meeting point for key actors in the cooperation ecosystem, bringing together regional, national and international development agencies, major ...multilateral organisations, donor and beneficiary governments, universities and research centres, NGOs, and civil society.
The symposium covers key themes including redefining international cooperation in a changing geopolitical context, the specific needs of Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries, the role of NGOs and civil society, and challenges such as food security, climate change, and water management.
The opening session of the symposium has featured inspiring reflections by Teodoro Miano (CIHEAM), Raúl Compés (CIHEAM Zaragoza), Francisco Joaquín Gaztelu (European Commission) and Joan Borrell (Union for the Mediterranean), highlighting the importance of partnerships, knowledge sharing, and innovative approaches for Mediterranean agri-food cooperation.
Organised by CIHEAM Zaragoza with the support of AECID_es, and in the framework of #MediterraneanDay, the event aims to strengthen collaboration across the Mediterranean to build sustainable and resilient agri-food systems.
