CELEBRANDO IL MEDITERRANEO

La Giornata del Mediterraneo offre l'opportunità per promuovere gli scambi interculturali, celebrare la cooperazione, abbracciare la diversità e rafforzare i legami tra le nostre due sponde. Celebriamo la nostra identità condivisa, il patrimonio comune e l'amore per il Mediterraneo. Ci ricorda inoltre che le nostre somiglianze superano ampiamente le nostre diversità e che tutti condividiamo un'identità mediterranea. It is a reminder that our similarities largely overcome our differences and that we all share a Mediterranean identity

Giornata del Mediterraneo 2024 – La prossima ondata: costruire un domani condiviso

Il 2024 è un anno come non si è mai visto. Con l’avvicinarsi delle scadenze dell’Agenda 2030 delle Nazioni Unite per lo sviluppo sostenibile e il moltiplicarsi delle varie crisi globali, tocca a noi plasmare il Mediterraneo secondo la nostra visione, basata sulla resilienza, la cooperazione e un domani migliore per tutti.

Il nostro Mediterraneo non solo vanta una varietà di siti del patrimonio culturale e una ricchezza di tradizioni senza precedenti a  livello mondiale, ma è anche un hotspot di biodiversità e geodiversità ed ospita una moltitudine di habitat e specie unici.

Celebrare il Mediterraneo è celebrare la vita in tutta la sua ampiezza e pienezza. Questo mare, così antico, attorno al quale viviamo ha dato al mondo le sue più grandi civiltà, le sue prime accademie ed università, i suoi primi drammaturghi e filosofi e le sue più famose rotte commerciali. 

La Giornata del Mediterraneo mira a creare un momento unico per mettere in luce le storie positive di cooperazione nella regione. Serve anche a ricordarci che condividiamo un’identità mediterrranea, poichè la dimensione culturale è una componente fondamentale di chi siamo e da dove veniamo.  

Offre l’opportunità di lanciare progetti ed iniziative, nonchè di organizzare eventi e tavole rotonde, mostre e festival in tutta la regione per rafforzare i legami delle nostre sponde, promuovere gli scambi interculturali ed abbracciare le diversità.

Cosa posso fare?

Ognuno ha un ruolo da svolgere. Che tu sia un’organizzazione che opera nel campo della cooperazione, una pubblica amministrazione, un ente privato o un cittadino innamorato del Mediterraneo, puoi far parte del movimento!

The Euro-Mediterranean region boasts a rich and diverse heritage, shaped by centuries of cultural exchange. A melting pot of different languages and traditions, the region shares a heritage and a deep sense of identity and belonging. Today, this legacy continues to inspire our shared values and aspirations, reminding us of the importance of building bridges and fostering understanding between cultures. In that spirit, the 43 Member States of the Union for the Mediterranean launched the “Mediterranean Capitals of Culture & Dialogue” during their 7th Regional Forum in November 2022. Based on the call of Ministers of Culture of the Euro-Mediterranean region on 17 June 2022 in Naples, as well as the recommendation of more than 200 young representatives from the civil society of over 20 countries at the Forum des Mondes Méditerranéens on February 2022 in Marseille, this initiative was shaped to further promote the diversity and shared identity and contribute to a better mutual understanding of its peoples. This initiative was developed in partnership with young civil society representatives and UfM member states.   • The logo can be used by groups and organizations who like to align themselves with the International Mediterranean Day. It is to be used at events that in no way bring disrepute to the Mediterranean Day promoted values. It is also used for demonstrating support and involvement through non-saleable, non-commercial products and resources that promote or support Mediterranean Day aims and objectives.
  • The logo must not be used for any form of merchandising to generate commercial gain or sale of products. It must also not be used in association with any form of harmful, violent or illegal activity. To report breaches, please email communication@ufmsecretariat.org
