“Sounds from the Grassroots: Youth Voices for Peace and Dialogue Across the Mediterranean”
Youth for Peace and Dialogue Between Cultures is honored to organize the Mediterranean Day concert on November 28, 2025, as part of the ALF Day of the Mediterranean celebrations.
The concert will embrace the theme “Sounds from the Grassroots: Youth Voices for Peace and Dialogue Across the Mediterranean,” highlighting the authentic music and stories emerging from local communities. Central to the event will be the exceptional participation of Maâlem Abdelkader Amlil and his group Tarwa N-Tiniri, whose Gnaoua music embodies the rich cultural fusion of African, Berber, and Arabic traditions.
This music not only preserves Morocco’s spiritual and cultural heritage but also acts as a powerful medium for intercultural dialogue, resilience, and community connection. By bringing together diverse youth voices and grassroots musical expressions, the concert aims to build understanding, belonging, and peaceful coexistence throughout the Mediterranean region.
Supported by collaboration with local administrations and the Anna Lindh Foundation, this event promises to be a vibrant celebration of identity and shared heritage, amplifying the voices from the ground up to foster solidarity and respect across cultures.
